An important aspect of organizing a chess tournament, and even more so for a championship, whether European or world, is the arbiters’ staff. It's important to cover as many languages as possible while simultaneously having the utmost expertise and knowledge of the ever-evolving FIDE regulations to keep up with the challenges that global changes bring to our beloved chessboards.
Cristina Rigo, the tournament director, has always paid close attention to these details and to the training of the arbiter’s team, and obviously her choices for this tournament were spot on as well.
