They are called that, but the initiatives proposed to the players of the European Championship are far from secondary.
It begins on Wednesday, June 3rd, around 5:30 PM, with a tasting of local products hosted by the Acqui Regional Wine Shop "Terme e Vino." What better opportunity to understand the wine culture that has always been the main attraction of the surrounding area, Alto Monferrato!
Then on Thursday, June 4th, at 9:30 PM, the chess players will leave the Congress Center to meet the public in Piazza La Bollente with a simultaneous chess, the most spectacular exhibition that captivates both opponents and spectators.
This year, it will be played by English GM Keith Arkell, with 20 challengers. Reservations are required at the organizers' table. Hurry up!
The highlight will be on Saturday the 6th at 9:00 PM, when you can participate in the Blitz Tournament 3'+2" at the Congress Center.
The tournament will FIDE rated, with prizes entirely in local products, information and registration at the arbiter's table in play venue.
After the Blitz Tournament, you can still postpone your return to the hotel by participating in the "Notte Bianca" (White Night), with music until the morning in the streets of Acqui Terme's city center. This night is part of the larger Bacchanalia event, which runs from June 5th to 7th: you can find the program in a previous article/post.
Si chiamano così ma sono tutt’altro che secondarie le iniziative che vengono proposte ai giocatori del Campionato europeo.
Si inizia da mercoledì 3 giugno verso le 17.30 con la degustazione direttamente al Centro Congressi di prodotti locali a cura dell’Enoteca Regionale Acqui “Terme e Vino”. Quale migliore occasione per comprendere la cultura del vino che da sempre è la principale attrazione del territorio circostante, l’Alto Monferrato!
Si passa poi a Giovedì 4 giugno alle 21.30 quando gli scacchi usciranno dal Centro Congressi per incontrare il pubblico in piazza La Bollente con la simultanea, l’esibizione più spettacolare che affascina sia gli avversari che il pubblico che assiste.
Quest’anno la terrà il GM inglese Keith Arkell, 20 saranno gli sfidanti, prenotazioni al tavolo degli organizzatori. Affrettatevi.
Il culmine sarà poi Sabato 6 alle 21.15 all’interno del Centro Congressi si potrà partecipare al Torneo lampo 3’+2” a mossa.
Il Torneo sarà valido per le variazioni del rating Fide, premi interamente in prodotti del territorio, info e adesioni al tavolo degli arbitri in sala gioco.
Dopo il Torneo lampo sarà ancora possibile rinviare il rientro in hotel partecipando alla “Notte Bianca” con musica fino al mattino nelle strade del centro di Acqui Terme.
